JJ Wilson

Born in Germany, the son of a Nigerian mother and English father, JJ Wilson grew up in the UK. He has taught in Egypt, Lesotho, Colombia, England, Italy, and the United States, and has trained teachers in 30 countries. He is currently the writer-in-residence at Western New Mexico University, where he teaches ESL Methods, Linguistics, Publication, and Creative Writing. He has co-authored, with Antonia Clare, several ELT courses, including Language to Go, Total English, and Speakout, which won the Duke of Edinburgh English Speaking Union prize for the Best Book of 2011 and was shortlisted for an ELTons award. His methodology book, How to Teach Listening, also won an English Speaking Union prize. Research and Resources in Language Teaching: Listening, co-authored with Michael Rost, came out in 2013. JJ also writes fiction, primarily about social justice issues, under the name JJ Amaworo Wilson. He is widely published in the US and the UK, and his novel, Damnificados, came out in January 2016. Antonia Clare

Antonia Clare is an English language teacher trainer, international conference speaker and award-winning materials writer. Her special interests include the use of video and new technologies in ELT, creativity and the psychology of language learning. She has taught and trained in many countries around the world, is currently a consultant trainer with NILE, and has co-authored bestselling course book titles including Total English and Speakout

Patrick Jackson

Patrick Jackson is an author of courses, stories, and apps for young learners of English. He believes that all learning should be enjoyable, happy, stimulating, and fun. Patrick is interested in ways in which children develop creativity and confidence through hands-on experience, real world connections, and face-to-face communication. These are the factors that underpin successful language acquisition. Based in Dublin, Ireland, Patrick also enjoys organizing study abroad programs and environmental work, particularly beach cleaning. He is the author of Shine On!, Everybody Up, Potato Pals, and Super Stars, all published by Oxford University Press

Mark Almond

Mark Almond is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Language Studies and Applied Linguistics at Canterbury Christ Church University, where he directs and teaches on various undergraduate, post-graduate diploma and MA linguistics and language teacher training programmes. He has taught, trained English language teachers and carried out consultancies in several countries including Hong Kong, Italy, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hungary, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Switzerland. His main areas of interest are in the use of drama in the language classroom and performance-related skills for effective and affective teaching to maximise socio-psychological harmony in the classroom. He has published widely in these and other areas and is often invited to speak at conferences around the world on his areas of expertise. His book ‘Teaching English with Drama’ was published in November 2005 by Pavilion Publishing. He is currently working on his second book with Alan Maley and Adrian Underhill provisionally titled Beyond Training: Spontaneity and Improvisation in Language Teacher Training

Norman Cain

Norman Cain has been a teacher and teacher trainer for over 40 years and has extensive experience training and teaching adults and YLs. He has trained in Malaysia, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and the UK. He has written a two level English course for the UN, training courses for International House and works as a language consultant for OUP. He is a Cambridge Teacher Trainer and assessor for DELTA, CELTA and CELTYL extension and an examiner for all the lower and upper main-suite examinations. Born near Newcastle in the UK, he has lived most of his adult life in Rome, Italy, where he works as a lecturer in English for Political Science, at LUISS University. He is currently a teacher trainer and IELTS Off-site Development Manager at International House Rome, Manzoni
